BREAKING NEWS:Manchester United have successfully secured their top summer transfer target, a £70m defender, after reaching an agreement. The player is undergoing a medical, with an official announcement expected today, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.

Initially, Real Madrid were considered the leading contenders to sign the young defender from LOSC Lille. However, in recent days, Manchester United have overtaken them in the race and are now poised to secure the player’s services.

Yoro is reportedly preparing to travel to England, where he will undergo a medical examination and finalize personal terms with Manchester United.

The details of Real Madrid’s defeat in the Yoro transfer race have been clarified by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Romano has provided more insight into the transfer saga, confirming that Yoro is indeed set to travel to England.

He also mentioned that the defender is expected to sign a contract with Manchester United that will run until 2029, a deal that was agreed upon the previous day.

There had been hope that Yoro would wait for a move to Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu, but it appears the defender grew tired of waiting and accepted Manchester United’s lucrative offer.

Real Madrid’s strategy involved either pressuring Lille to accept their bid or signing Yoro on a free transfer next summer. However, Manchester United persisted and are now close to finalizing the deal, according to Romano.

Real Madrid had the opportunity to match Manchester United’s offer, which was around €62 million. However, the reigning European champions were unwilling to pay such a high amount. Real Madrid’s bid for Yoro was approximately €25 million, less than half of what Manchester United were offering.

Unsurprisingly, LOSC Lille promptly accepted Manchester United’s offer. Real Madrid were aware of the situation but remained firm in their stance.

Their message to Yoro was clear: “If you want to be a Real Madrid player, you have to understand our strategy and our timing. Otherwise, you’re free to go wherever you want.”
