BREAKING NEWS: A journalist has disclosed that Manchester United is now ‘very close’ to signing two Champions League stars for under £60 million, with medicals already completed.

Manchester United are optimistic about finalizing a double deal with Bayern Munich this summer, as reported by respected journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Red Devils have already brought in Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro during the current transfer window and are looking to further strengthen their squad.

Bayern recently rejected a double transfer offer from United for Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, but the club remains hopeful of completing these signings.

Romano disclosed on The Here We Go podcast that Bayern is seeking £43 million for De Ligt and £17 million for Mazraoui this summer.

United, however, are hesitant to meet the combined £60 million price tag and are in negotiations to reduce the valuation. The club is confident that they will reach an agreement soon.

Determined to secure De Ligt and Mazraoui, United faced a setback last weekend when Yoro sustained a metatarsal injury, sidelining the young centre-back for at least three months.

Yoro is expected to return by early November, but manager Erik ten Hag may want another central defensive signing for added assurance.

De Ligt has verbally agreed to terms on a long-term contract, and it’s likely that United will make another transfer attempt for the Dutchman next week.

United’s defensive shortcomings were highlighted in their 3-0 defeat to Liverpool. Although Lisandro Martinez is set to return to training tomorrow, the club still needs to bolster their backline.

Additionally, right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been underwhelming in recent friendlies, amid rumors of a potential sale. West Ham United is reportedly interested in acquiring him.

Considering this, Ten Hag may aim to bring in Mazraoui as soon as possible. The Moroccan right-back could be signed in advance, allowing the club to proceed with Wan-Bissaka’s transfer.
