This summer, he has been heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, specifically Al-Ittihad. According to Caught Offside, Ederson has reached a “verbal understanding” with Al-Ittihad, who have reportedly offered him a three-year deal worth an impressive £67 million, and the Brazilian goalkeeper has orally agreed to these terms.
When questioned about Ederson’s situation after the match against Celtic, Guardiola admitted his uncertainty about Ederson’s future.
He stated, “I would prefer him to stay, but it depends on other teams. I’m not sure the circumstances exist. The previous several days have seen no encounters. Training is the issue here; we will see after the transfer window closes.”
As Manchester City’s pre-season tour continues, resolving Ederson’s situation is crucial. The uncertainty surrounding the goalkeeper is far from ideal for the team.
