DEAL FINALIZED: Arsenal has reached an agreement to sign a £46.9m star player, who has chosen their jersey number and is expected to arrive shortly for a medical examination.

After a sluggish start to the transfer window, Arsenal has significantly ramped up their efforts to strengthen their squad. The club has already secured the signing of Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna, aimed at reinforcing their defense.

In addition to bolstering their backline, the North London club is actively pursuing a deal to bring Real Sociedad’s Mikel Merino to the Emirates, in order to enhance their midfield. However, reports suggest that Arsenal is not stopping there—they are also eager to sign a new forward before the transfer window closes.

Several strikers have been linked to a potential move to Arsenal in recent weeks, with Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen, and Viktor Gyokeres among those rumored. Despite this, Arsenal has yet to make any formal approaches for these players.

Recent reports from Turkiye, cited by Turkish Football, reveal that Arsenal is now turning its attention to Galatasaray’s star forward Yilmaz. The Gunners are reportedly preparing to submit a £17 million bid to secure the Turkish international’s services.

The report also notes that West Ham United had previously shown interest in Yilmaz but have since decided not to pursue the deal further. This development seemingly clears the path for Arsenal to bring the 24-year-old to North London.

Although Galatasaray has previously valued Yilmaz at around £26 million, it remains to be seen whether the Turkish club would accept Arsenal’s lower offer if submitted.

Yilmaz had an impressive season in the Turkish Süper Lig last year, playing a crucial role in helping Galatasaray clinch the league title. Additionally, he was instrumental in Turkiye’s successful run to the quarter-finals of the European Championship.

Known for his versatility, Yilmaz is comfortable playing on either wing and can also be deployed as a central striker. This adaptability would be a valuable asset to Arsenal if the deal goes through.

However, questions remain about whether Yilmaz would represent a significant upgrade over Arsenal’s current attacking options. There is some doubt about whether he is the right choice to help the Gunners achieve their high ambitions, should the transfer be completed.
