Arsenal are reportedly considering a last-minute move for a world-class player before the summer transfer window closes. The Gunners have been active in the transfer market, aiming to strengthen their squad in a bid to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title. Their key signings include defender Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna and Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad, both of whom joined earlier in the window.

New reports suggest that Arsenal could be preparing to make a move for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman. Mikel Arteta is keen to add another wide forward to his squad to increase competition for Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Leandro Trossard. The acquisition of Coman would be a significant boost for the London club.

However, financial considerations could complicate any potential deal for Coman. The 28-year-old currently earns £300,000 per week at Bayern Munich, which would make him the highest-paid player at Arsenal if they matched his salary. Additionally, Coman has three years remaining on his contract with Bayern, meaning the German club may demand a substantial transfer fee for a permanent move.

There are, however, suggestions that a loan deal for Coman could be an option, which would ease the financial burden on Arsenal. A loan arrangement could be a more viable solution, allowing the club to bring in the player without committing to a high transfer fee and wages.

Coman has been a key player for Bayern Munich, making 27 appearances last season, scoring five goals and providing three assists. This season, he has already made two appearances, coming off the bench and scoring in Bayern’s season opener against SSV Ulm. Since joining Bayern from Juventus in 2017, Coman has made 294 appearances, scoring 63 goals and contributing 66 assists.

In addition to Arsenal’s interest, Coman has also attracted attention from the Saudi Pro League, with Al-Hilal reportedly the most likely destination in Saudi Arabia. He has also been linked with a move to Premier League rivals Liverpool, although the Merseyside club appears to be focusing on signing Juventus winger Federico Chiesa instead.

Coman initially joined Bayern Munich on a two-season loan from Juventus before signing permanently, with the combined fee for the loan and transfer reportedly totalling €28 million. As the transfer window draws to a close, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal can secure a deal for the talented winger.
