“An earthquake hits Camp Nou! A jaw-dropping swap deal between Milan and Barcelona sees Ronald Araújo leave, while Barcelona secures Laporta’s ultimate transfer target! “

Barcelona and AC Milan are reportedly closing in on one of the most surprising and exciting swap deals in recent memory — a move that could dramatically reshape both squads ahead of next season.

With both clubs keeping a close eye on key players in each other’s lineups, mutual interest has brought the prospect of a formal agreement closer than ever.

At the heart of the talks is Uruguayan defender Ronald Araújo, once a defensive cornerstone at Camp Nou. Lately, however, Araújo has endured one of the toughest spells of his career, losing his regular starting role and facing harsh criticism for costly mistakes in pivotal games — most notably in the Champions League, where his errors were blamed for Barcelona’s back-to-back exits.

Even though he recently signed a contract extension, Barcelona president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco are now open to offers for the center-back, provided they meet the club’s valuation.

On the other side, AC Milan has shown genuine interest in bringing Araújo to San Siro, identifying him as a perfect fit to strengthen their defense. Despite his recent dip in form, the Rossoneri believe in his potential resurgence but are unwilling to match Barcelona’s initial €60 million asking price.

According to reports from Spanish outlet El Nacional, Milan is exploring a creative alternative — proposing to include Portuguese star Rafael Leão in a swap deal. Despite his talent, Leão’s inconsistency on the pitch and issues off it have led Milan to consider parting ways with the winger this summer.

Leão has long been on Barcelona’s radar, though his hefty price tag — reportedly over €100 million — has been a stumbling block. However, with his agent Jorge Mendes now involved, discussions have reignited, and Barcelona sees the 24-year-old as a valuable reinforcement for their attack.

Given the comparable market values of both players, a direct swap deal without significant cash adjustments is being considered. Laporta and Deco are reportedly open to the idea as they aim to strengthen the squad while maintaining financial balance.

If the deal materializes, the Leão–Araújo swap could become one of the headline transfers of the summer window, given its tactical and strategic implications for both European giants.
